In the world of elite private aviation, some names have become benchmarks, completely redefining what is possible. The Gulfstream G650 and its extended-range version, the G650ER, are such icons. Developed by the renowned manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., this pair of jets represents the pinnacle of technology, performance, and luxury, serving as the ultimate tool for intercontinental journeys.
At JetVina, we take pride in providing access to this legendary aircraft, offering clients in Vietnam and Southeast Asia an unparalleled global travel solution.
Gulfstream G650ER Private Jet – JetVina – Private Jet Charter1. Heritage and Leading Status
The G650 is not merely an upgrade but a clean-sheet design, announced in 2008 and officially entering service at the end of 2012. Shortly after, the G650ER (Extended Range) was introduced in 2014, further pushing the limits of distance. The launch of the G650/G650ER created a new segment: ultra-long-range private jets, and has maintained its leading position for many years.
2. Cabin – Office and Sky Retreat
The standout feature of the G650/G650ER is its unparalleled cabin space, designed to maximize comfort and productivity on long-haul flights.
-
Exceptional Dimensions: The passenger cabin measures up to 14.27 meters in length (excluding the baggage compartment), 2.49 meters in width, and 1.91 meters in height, allowing passengers to move, work, and relax with absolute ease.
-
Flexible Configuration: Certified for up to 19 passengers, typical luxury configurations accommodate 10–14 passengers. With dedicated sleeping areas, the G650/G650ER can comfortably serve up to 10 passengers in absolute luxury.
-
Light and Fresh Air: The cabin features 16 signature Gulfstream oval windows, providing natural light and panoramic views. Advanced pressurization keeps cabin altitude at approximately 1,200 meters even when flying at 15,545 meters, combined with 100% fresh air circulation, reducing fatigue and jet lag.
-
Baggage Compartment: With a volume of 5.52 cubic meters, the baggage hold can store a large amount of personal luggage and essential equipment for long trips.
3. Operational Performance – Exceptional Speed, Range, and Altitude
The G650 and G650ER are engineered to break records in speed and distance.
Near-Supersonic Speed: With a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925, the G650/G650ER ranks among the fastest civilian jets in the world. Its high-speed cruise at Mach 0.90 significantly reduces travel time on long-haul flights.
Optimal Flight Altitude: Capable of cruising at up to 15,545 meters (51,000 feet), the G650/G650ER flies above commercial air traffic and adverse weather, ensuring a smoother, straighter, and less disrupted journey.
Intercontinental Range: The hallmark of this aircraft series. At long-range cruise speed Mach 0.85 with 8 passengers:
-
G650 maximum range: 12,964 km (7,000 nautical miles)
-
G650ER maximum range: 13,890 km (7,500 nautical miles)
This allows passengers to fly nonstop from Hanoi to Los Angeles, Ho Chi Minh City to Paris, or Singapore to London with ease.
4. Key Differences Between the G650 and G650ER
Although they share the same platform, the main differences between the two models lie in fuel capacity and range.
Range and Fuel: The G650ER is equipped with additional wing fuel tanks, allowing it to carry an extra 1,814 kg (4,000 lb) of fuel. This directly extends its range by 926 km (500 nautical miles), making the G650ER the optimal choice for the longest transoceanic flights.
Weight and Takeoff Performance: To accommodate the extra fuel, the G650ER has a higher Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) of 46,992 kg compared to 45,178 kg for the G650. Consequently, the G650ER requires a slightly longer runway for takeoff (1,920 m vs. 1,786 m for the G650 under standard conditions). The G650, with its shorter runway requirement, offers slightly more flexibility at airports with limited runway length.
5. Cockpit Technology and Engines – The Foundation of Safety
Gulfstream PlaneView II Cockpit: Based on Honeywell’s integrated avionics system Primus Epic, the G650/G650ER cockpit provides pilots with state-of-the-art aviation technology, enhancing situational awareness and ensuring the highest levels of flight safety.
Rolls-Royce BR725 Engines: This powerful and efficient twin-engine setup is the heart of the G650/G650ER, delivering the thrust and reliability needed to achieve record-setting operational performance.
